Some are born Athele’s, Others are born Coaches
Swimming was a non-negotiable in my house growing up. Living in a coastal area as a young child my parents were very intentional about getting myself and my sister in the water early. While we weren’t always co-operative to the idea, it paid great dividends as we got older.
Both my sister and I were swimming competently by the age of 6 and in junior squads not long after. We trained 3-5 mornings a week before school, much to my dismay. However an athlete among us emerged. My sister.
She went on to compete for several years at state and national levels in breaststroke. I however, while a strong swimmer never reached heights past state swimming. I did however find I had a knack for the details in swimming.
My Coach at the time went to great lengths to explain the physiology to me and pass on hundreds of swimming tips that I now use everyday. I started teaching family friends kids to swim at about 12years old, just for fun and at the tender age of 16 I got my swimming teaching licence and so began my swimming teaching career.

More To Come….
