Most people book into weekly lessons, however often attend inconsistently. The most important factors to progressions is consistency and regularity. Like any physical skill the more often you practice, the quicker improvements in skill and confidence; in an aquatic environment that is golden. That is why students who attend lessons 2-3 times a week often experience faster progress and higher levels of confidence.
Most people attend once a week. However, most people are slow to progress and gain water confidence. Consistency is the most important part of learning to swim as well as regularity. Learn to swim Intensives are an incredibly effective way to jump start aquatic learning because to the familiarity it builds in the student, of the teacher and the aquatic environment. It is second to not much in producing results in lessons. For continued progress we recommend two weeks of intensives and then a season of lessons being two to 3 times a week with consistent attendance. You will see awesome progress, we have!
There is no straight answer for this question. Every student is different, they have had different aquatic interactions in their past and have different levels of confidence and engagement. There is no such thing as average when is comes to learning a competency based skill like swimming. However consistent and focused practice make the process shorter no matter who you are or what your abilities are. It is also really important to consider where each student is starting from. Some kids have been exposed to water very early others have had bad experience or just never had the chance to start. This means they are going through water familiarisation still.
When it comes to learning how to swim you get out what you put in. If you spend a whole summer in the water every day… chances are your going to look more like a swimmer at the end of summer than someone doing a lesson a week for a year.
Easy Breezy Swim School provides most of the equipment required for swimming lessons, including aids and educational toys. You will need to bring your own is swimming costumes, towel, goggles and swimming cap (if you like). Children under 3 must bring a tight fitting swim nappy (we do sell swimmer disposable swimmer nappies for $2ea, but that is subject to availability).
Our pool is a magnesium pool that is UV Sterilised (cleaned) so we use far less of those nasty chemical that hurt your eyes. It is a shaded outdoor pool, heated to 29- 30 degrees. The conditions are great for anyone a be apprehensive about learn to swim.
We have two types of assessments. The first is the INTITIAL ASSESSMENT At the start of the season or your enrollment all of our students and clients undergo a Learn to swim assessment. This is for the benefit of the student and teacher. It gives us a picture of where we are up to and where we can head towards. We note these details at the beginning of the season.
At the end of the season this initial assessment is reviewed and a progress report it created to showcase the progression and success each student has had through the season. As well as the opportunities ahead for development and improvement.
The second type is ONGOING ASSESSMENTS. Your student’s teacher is continuously assessing their swimming abilities and skills in order to promote individual progression. If there comes a point where they have progressed past the class level, they are learning in we will contact you to find a new time to adjust your students’ lessons to better align with there level of skill. We take progression very seriously.
It is our main goal to see all of our students progress as quickly as is right for them in confidence and skill so that they can enjoy swimming for leisure, fitness or competition if they choose.
We are a small, family swim school and our teachers take pride in building important repour with our students. They are reliable and consistent. However, on occasions of sickness or unforeseen circumstance substitution or adjustments may be made. We do try to ensure that the sub-in is someone your student has interacted with before.
